Why External Hard Drive Prices and Shipping Times Have Changed

At DJ Music Collection, transparency with our customers has always been a priority. We want to clearly explain recent changes affecting pricing, availability, and turnaround times for external hard drive orders.

Our Pricing Commitment

Our policy has always been to offer the lowest possible prices on the market without sacrificing quality. We do not cut corners or switch to lower-grade storage in order to reduce costs. Every drive we provide is selected and prepared with reliability and performance in mind for DJs.

Why Costs Have Increased

Like many businesses in the digital storage industry, we have been impacted by rising costs across the supply chain. External hard drive pricing has increased due to:

  • Higher manufacturer pricing across the industry

  • Increased demand for large-capacity drives

  • Ongoing supply chain fluctuations

  • Shipping and logistics inconsistencies

As a result, pricing adjustments have become necessary to reflect real market conditions.

Our Supply Chain & Recent Disruptions

As a long-term buyer of external hard drives, we typically source inventory in bulk directly from major manufacturers such as Western Digital and Seagate, often through their authorized distribution channels.

However, in recent weeks, a combination of production chain disruptions, system issues, and delivery failures on the supplier side has significantly impacted our ability to consistently receive stock.

Because of this, we have experienced a temporary slowdown in our production process, particularly for external drives 5TB and under.

Customer Communication & Order Updates

We want to assure customers that during this period:

  • We have communicated directly with all affected customers

  • Customers purchasing 5TB and under were informed of updated timelines

  • The standard turnaround time for these orders was set to 14 days plus shipping time

We have made it a priority to keep customers updated throughout these delays to ensure full transparency.

Updated Processing & Shipping Times

We are still accepting orders for external hard drives.

However, please be aware of the following temporary changes:

  • Previous average shipping time: 48 hours

  • Current estimated turnaround time: 10–14 days before shipment

  • Shipping time after dispatch remains unchanged based on carrier delivery speed

These delays are temporary and directly related to inventory flow and supplier-side disruptions.

What to Expect Moving Forward

We expect to return to our standard fulfillment speed within the next 30 days, as inventory supply is beginning to stabilize and flow more consistently.

Once fully stabilized, our goal is to return to our normal 48-hour turnaround time for external hard drive orders.
